Episode 43. Ethan Runningcrane - The Eclipse

[00:00:13] And I mean it's just like everything went quiet and I could hear the ringing in my ears

[00:00:21] and I could feel my heart racing.

[00:00:23] So I hit my life and I was flying up there.

[00:00:29] I've been told by some old people elders that you grab them and you hold them and you

[00:00:37] don't own them but you hold them there until daylight if we can hold them or pull them

[00:00:44] into the light it destroys anything they have any kind of power or anything that or

[00:00:50] anything they were trying to do to you little destroy them.

[00:00:55] This guy was like bouncing like you know like I see people kind of getting ready to

[00:01:01] jick you know how they kind of bounce yeah he was like that way he was just kind of bouncing

[00:01:05] and he was just kind of going back and forth and one foot through the other and he just

[00:01:10] kind of turned sideways and he turned back over to the other way and he took off holy

[00:01:17] shit he jumped in wander.

[00:01:33] Running Crain.

[00:01:35] He's a really good storyteller.

[00:01:38] He has a lot of knowledge about a lot of things in our culture.

[00:01:44] He's a role model for a lot of young people and I was honored to have him on the podcast.

[00:01:52] In this podcast we start off with a few ghost stories.

[00:01:57] We talk about the goat man just a few spook stories I guess I would say and then toward

[00:02:08] the end I ask him about if he could speak on the eclipse and we talk a little bit about

[00:02:16] that since today was the eclipse and I'm releasing this podcast same day as the eclipse.

[00:02:21] So here's a little bit about what we are people know and what we think about the eclipse.

[00:02:29] I was never taught anything about it growing up so I know Ethan had some teachings about

[00:02:36] it and he's going to inquire about a little bit more so hopefully down the road I'll be able

[00:02:41] to share the rest of that knowledge with you guys.

[00:02:47] We talk a little bit about our creation stories we don't...

[00:02:50] If we were to tell the whole creation story it's long, it's a long story there's a lot

[00:02:55] that's happened in it that explains the Black Feet world there's a lot there but it's

[00:03:04] important that we know those stories as Black Feet and you know maybe one of these days

[00:03:11] will share just nothing but stories like that on here.

[00:03:14] So I hope you guys enjoy this podcast I know you'll get a lot out of it.

[00:06:49] go and machte hello everybody my name is Ethan running crane I reside on the Black

[00:06:56] Field Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana I am 23 years old and grew up with a lot of

[00:07:05] old people and heard a lot of old stories not just old stories but even recent ones with my parents

[00:07:12] and their my grandparents and my sisters and brothers and yeah I just grew up here on the

[00:07:21] Res and heard a lot of it's kind of one of our things in our ways to tell those stories about

[00:07:27] those bad spirits and you know I just I've heard quite a few I've heard quite a few of them you

[00:07:33] know it's not nothing new that we have these spirits come around and we are used to

[00:07:38] those stories being told by those old ones kind of telling us to be careful but do you

[00:07:44] want me to go right into the story yeah yeah let's hear well just all that one I told so

[00:07:52] so you know red blanket hill huh so my sisters they were um they're all out in about

[00:08:02] probably in about 2015 they're all out about party and drinking and having a really good time

[00:08:09] and they were at they were at the Charlie's bar in Badmok, Montana they were um

[00:08:19] drinking there and my sister said that they had seen a fight in there it was like really bad energy

[00:08:26] there and you know and by a bit to small community so like you don't really know who you're going to see

[00:08:31] or who you're gonna end up going around with but they said there's like these really weird people

[00:08:36] there white people and uh they were kind of just like acting strange and that one woman she was

[00:08:42] like acting like she was like um a witch or something like she said she was a witch like not in a

[00:08:48] sense like you would think just like one of those people that can call the future say weird things

[00:08:54] what she told them before they're leaving at the bar and she was just like you guys are gonna

[00:08:58] you guys are gonna see something from my make-perre or something like that and

[00:09:01] they kind of were kind of tripped out about it so they didn't really think nothing anyways

[00:09:06] they all hopped in their car and they cruised right around St. Mary's and went to um

[00:09:14] went right along all the way through and they left a red blanket hill anyways there's a dirt road

[00:09:19] back in there and they just wanted to go park and um they wanted to go look around at some uh

[00:09:26] like just around in the trees and stuff in there and there's a vehicle and there's a little

[00:09:29] dirt road back in there anyways they were all having that good time drinking they didn't really

[00:09:35] think of nothing and they're on this back dirt road and it's that road has trees on both sides

[00:09:41] some uh cottonwoods and also some quakey ash and there's some pines in there and red blanket and

[00:09:49] anyways it's just right below there and so they were in this dirt road and they're just driving along

[00:09:53] and they were jamming out and it was uh pretty moonlit night out it was pretty nice night out it was

[00:10:00] warm it was a summer night anyways they get down to this uh they kind of get down to the

[00:10:06] creek bottom but they're eight on the dirt road and anyways um they see this guy walking he's all

[00:10:13] by himself and my sister in the back of her head says that you know she's kind of scared after

[00:10:18] with that woman told her you're gonna see my maker so they start they start walking

[00:10:24] and they see this guy and he has a car heart code on it looks like and it's time it's really time and he

[00:10:29] has his long hair has uh um he has a cowboy hat on and he has boots and he's wearing um um

[00:10:39] like wranglers and he's just walking and they're kind of honking at him they're like wondering

[00:10:43] what the hell he's doing well they're by himself in the dark and they were kind of spooky about it

[00:10:48] like they didn't want it they didn't want to cruise away and they see like turned around and what

[00:10:51] towards their vehicle because they didn't know what he was gonna do and so they were just

[00:10:56] right behind him that those lights flashing on him they said he had a weird way he was walking

[00:11:01] though like he's almost uncomfortable and he was kind of like walking down that road and

[00:11:05] they're still behind him and they kind of turned in their lights off the other

[00:11:09] stuff how's this guy doing you know like a shit so anyways they

[00:11:14] they keep following him and following him and then that road turns off to the right

[00:11:20] he kind of speeds up a little bit and my sisters are behind him still

[00:11:24] my brother and he turns off from the road again and he they were wondering what the hell it was you

[00:11:30] know they're like what the hell is he doing you know why is he not just coming back and visiting us

[00:11:35] or something we could give him a ride because they're like if he looks like a cowboy or like

[00:11:39] written didn't you know and so anyways they get going up again and they they are seeing him again

[00:11:45] and he just walking the same way but this time they said for some reason his boots changed they

[00:11:50] said they were calling almost like a red red boot they said they changed they were black now

[00:11:55] in there they all seen it they're like hey did this boots change their song and yeah it kind of

[00:11:59] big anyways so they start going down this uh this um that boot road again and there's those trees

[00:12:06] on the side and it kind of swampy a little bit anyways he turns off again this time he goes left

[00:12:12] and so they're following him and like they're all still drinking and having fun and

[00:12:16] they're just like well just keep following him series going so we make sure he's okay because

[00:12:20] what if he goes if he's on some or something's wrong with him and we're gonna make sure that he's

[00:12:25] gonna be okay or call the cops on him if we leave and so he takes a left or sharp left again

[00:12:32] they're wondering why he keep doing that so he takes out left again and it kind of goes into this

[00:12:37] little uh like picnic area and they went to go look right when they when they turn left and

[00:12:44] shine their lights right where he was at there's a buckskin horse with its tail like kind of

[00:12:49] waging in it search like charting away from him again and hallway just got so scared and

[00:12:55] dusted out of there and they didn't know what the hell to think about it and um

[00:13:00] they ended up leaving their all crying because they the that guy just disappeared but they think he turned

[00:13:05] into that horse and uh but my sister just goes back to what she said and she said yeah she's like I

[00:13:11] don't know I don't know what the hell it meant but that guy he told me or that woman told me at the bar

[00:13:16] she said she was a witch and she said you guys are gonna meet my maker tonight oh

[00:13:21] oh oh oh I wonder what that woman looked like at the bar was was she what did you say she was

[00:13:29] a non-native woman she was a non-native woman she kind of looked like uh um you know those people

[00:13:35] we get on our rez they call logies she she was kind of like um shed dreads oh yeah yeah black

[00:13:41] eyeliner and she's just in all black like uh like kind of rock her clothes and stuff like that but

[00:13:48] they said she was an older lady and she just came up to him out of nowhere and said hey you guys

[00:13:53] gonna meet my maker tonight is that's weird I can wonder she was a spirit herself have they

[00:14:00] seen her around there where um no they never did see her around there and what's weird is like

[00:14:06] they said there was really weird energy around that night because there's quite a few fights

[00:14:11] in that bar and um there was no no white tea people fighting it was all our own people and like

[00:14:16] everyone was really getting pumped hammered and for some reason this woman didn't even seem like

[00:14:20] she was drunk whatsoever and they were all leaving and she was just like acting weird like by

[00:14:26] herself and that's what she told them and they're kind of weirded out about it but yeah that's

[00:14:31] they they for sure know that that guy was either a shaped shifter or whatever the how he was

[00:14:38] like he turned into that horse and you can see his tail wagging like really hard after he turned

[00:14:44] in they see not horse right there and it was a buckskin horse in color of his jacket

[00:14:52] yeah red blanket it's got a lot going on over there man you know that old guy used to really raise

[00:14:59] how with people up there but he kind of calmed down you know recently from what I understand but

[00:15:06] yeah you know jumping front of people's cars try to make them wreck right there you know

[00:15:11] as you're coming around that hill um things like that but see him and his wife were really

[00:15:18] they were really powerful uh medicine people long time ago she yeah she had the

[00:15:25] ability to uh make you this belt and that belt would stop you from uh becoming pregnant

[00:15:32] and at this time those those catholic priests and stuff they didn't like

[00:15:37] you know what she was doing and they didn't trust probably all of them at the time but

[00:15:44] so they kind of kept it secret but people could go to them and they would give you you know

[00:15:50] she would give them that but she you'd have to you know basically pay for it like give them

[00:15:54] offerings and stuff and they would they would help people with that but

[00:15:59] he was buried in a um above ground you know like how they dislaid him on the ground

[00:16:06] he's his bones were up there for quite a while but uh you know there's a there's a place up there

[00:16:13] that you can actually fast and I guess see he still comes around when you're fasting he'll

[00:16:17] he'll come out that old guy yeah but I guess he man this is just what I've heard is that

[00:16:25] he'll test you like sometimes he'll he'll blow wind at you so hard that it you know it's scary

[00:16:32] he'll blow you down and other times he'll I don't know like shoot fireballs at you like they'll

[00:16:39] make fire come at you and oh try and scare you while you're fasting and I guess if you stick it out

[00:16:46] you know he'll help you out that those are the kind of the stories I heard about that place

[00:16:51] oh yeah yeah that would be scary that I mean good spirit but just I don't know why he

[00:16:59] was like that a lot out there with that one spirit that I know of that old man yeah and like you

[00:17:05] know there's all kinds of stories too people walking out there too like back in the day and you

[00:17:09] know like that red blanket hill like they see that they see it old guy or they'll see different

[00:17:15] spirits that we'll try to you know like you're saying test them or my system and uh yeah and what

[00:17:22] I was told to in our in our ceremonies and we go fast as black sheep there's gonna be you have to

[00:17:28] watch out for some spirits we'll try to make you do certain things like there's been times where

[00:17:32] people like I've told that these spirits will kind of mess with your your fast and almost try to

[00:17:41] incise you to do things that aren't what you're supposed to do like I know why yourself look

[00:17:46] try to like make you do things that isn't whatsoever on your path and you gotta watch out for them

[00:17:51] as well as told there's been elders that said that there has been tricksters that try to do that

[00:17:57] and they're really strong and um they are strong spirits but what you should have be careful for is

[00:18:03] that they don't entice you to do something that's not part of your journey on your fast and

[00:18:09] but they said it only happens rarely occasionally because of the prayers but

[00:18:14] you're when you're fasting you open all energies and you're open to everything to give you your power

[00:18:20] but the good power comes but yeah I guess I was told that sometimes that'll come and

[00:18:26] you don't know what will happen hmm and another thing I heard about fasting is um well I guess

[00:18:34] you never fast by a big rock oh yeah yeah and this is just what I heard is that it'll fast

[00:18:42] by those big rocks because sometimes that rock for some reason will ask you to bring him a woman

[00:18:48] I don't know what that is or you know I heard that from a guy up in Canada

[00:18:55] yeah I know that I heard that too from uh Leonard Bastine and also too um

[00:19:02] the guy named Christmas Q. I was watching a video on him and he was talking about the fasting

[00:19:07] and they said that same thing to you don't fast-worthy there's big rocks because the same thing

[00:19:14] someone bought them they they could go do that yeah and they'll want something from you

[00:19:20] yeah I just trying to think of another story though to give um I can tell the uh

[00:19:29] I can tell that war bonnet what if you want me to yeah

[00:19:33] yeah so someone's told mine my poor children actually know that they told me about this uh

[00:19:39] well it's not only just here but you know they people talk about this guy that

[00:19:44] we were talking about it earlier um kick talk live and you know we both know

[00:19:48] the stories that come about of this they say it's the goat man but they say he's a spirit and

[00:19:54] he can turn himself into a man so there's big party going on at uh war bonnet oh war bonnet

[00:20:02] here in Browning we don't uh wait when you get into town and um we're on the right hand side there

[00:20:08] there's that war bonnet it was a hotel kind of um bar kind of type of place and it was uh kind

[00:20:17] of a popular spot for people to go party so anyways this guy shows up to this big party that they're

[00:20:25] having there at the bar and these uh this um man shows up and he's just in all black he has a black

[00:20:34] trench coat black cowboy hat he has braids he would make himself a cricket Indian

[00:20:41] and he's uh he's really well off and like comes with uh adequate of he wants to get everyone drunk

[00:20:49] and everyone kind of like we know who he was and he said he was from Browning and he just showed up

[00:20:54] out of nowhere and he has a really weird green doing like kind of one of those faces that you

[00:20:59] look at and you always remember it one of those faces that you kind of like it's a peculiar face

[00:21:05] but it not in a good way it kind of like almost it makes you uncomfortable but then when you're

[00:21:10] drinking you know you don't really care about that kind of stuff so if they're giving you alcohol

[00:21:14] you don't care but anyways this guy shows up and he he starts giving everyone shots not even from

[00:21:22] the bar he starts giving everyone shots and everyone's wondering why he has so much money because

[00:21:27] he just looks like a native village walking you know probably from like like he walking from you

[00:21:32] know 600 or so on the off like he didn't look pretty well off so anyway as he starts giving

[00:21:39] everyone drinks and there's people there that are really getting drunk in here the same come on

[00:21:43] come on let's go let's have some wine let's go and he's not even getting drunk himself and

[00:21:49] they go outside because he incisors before we go outside and he got some build it's short to him

[00:21:54] he has a pick up with him they didn't they thought he didn't drive but he did

[00:22:00] yet uh pick up with him and uh he he uh took some guys out there and he said he goes let's go

[00:22:06] let's have a drink come on because I'll show you guys this is a really good bottle and you know

[00:22:10] as he grabs a bottle he picks it out and he says come on let's go let's let's take some

[00:22:15] shots go go go so those those guys start drinking with him they all picking shots are just all

[00:22:21] around passing that bottle and anyways he's just laughing the whole time he's keeps laughing and

[00:22:26] and then when he's laughing like kind of looking at him all you know I just got laughing was he

[00:22:32] kind of acting weird so hang on there he has to keep laughing he's like oh I'm just having such a

[00:22:36] good time with you guys see is it awesome it's like when you guys get drunk he said oh really

[00:22:43] yeah I like it when you guys are drunk it's my favorite time and they kind of thought that was weird

[00:22:48] and they're looking at his bottle and his bottles at the pippy pot they all took shots they look at

[00:22:54] his bottle and they said hey don't you just give us a shot of that bottle how come it's empty

[00:22:58] how'd you do that he said oh it's just one of my tricks he said but he said we're gonna keep drinking

[00:23:03] tonight you guys don't do up he's like let's go come on we're gonna keep going they said well

[00:23:08] we're gonna go inside so they'll go inside and follow them they all sit at the bar and he's just

[00:23:13] kind of sitting by himself again and he's sitting there smiling like you going around do

[00:23:18] himself kind of it's like weird giggle you know he's kind of like you know like he's sitting by

[00:23:26] himself in there all it's kind of weirded out by him by this point like they don't kind of

[00:23:30] don't know what to do and anyways he walks upstairs and we're born it he goes down the hallway and

[00:23:35] he said he had a room but no one remembers him getting one so they're walking up there and he

[00:23:41] he was walking up down that hallway it's kind of dark in there and this lady was up there she was

[00:23:45] being teased and she was following him about on purpose which is going to a different room and

[00:23:50] she said he's kind of like walking this bedroom and he kind of like lifted up his coat

[00:23:56] she said when he lifted up his coat she noticed something she said she seemed like this like

[00:24:01] it almost looked like you know like at the tip it looked like almost like a buffalo tail

[00:24:07] or like a goat tail and she was like she thought he might have a prop or had something like maybe

[00:24:13] he just cut something off and had something underneath there and he said it start wailing like

[00:24:18] it was I started waging like it was like part of him and she's got really scared and ran

[00:24:23] down and she's stuck on the run in the bar hanging that guy in the church got on the tablet hat

[00:24:28] he walked in that room before he went in he lifted up his coat to grab something out of his back pocket

[00:24:33] he was like I wouldn't have walled it or something um I seen that tail and I seen a tail I think

[00:24:39] they're all kind of all great you just jump let's go let's keep drinking so he comes back out of

[00:24:46] a war bonnet they're up on top and he's got the bar and he's still as a green do his face and they're

[00:24:51] hey this one says you have a has a tail and then all this laughing and he's just laughing

[00:24:57] the film is kind of great and really hard and he's like come on let's go let's keep drinking come on

[00:25:02] tonight this one guy he kind of noticed some odd two he was kind of messed with his boots at guy

[00:25:07] and he's reaching down and kind of like scratching and he seemed the same thing he he lifted up

[00:25:13] his pants and he starts scratching and he said his feet had fur he had fur like hair on his ankles

[00:25:20] and there it was really thick and it looked like his ankles were pretty thick and kind of seen like

[00:25:26] you know like on a goat like they're back right behind their heel there's that there's that other

[00:25:33] little piece of her fritter he said he'd seen something to that extent and he got scared and he

[00:25:38] started telling them and he was telling those guys don't take any drinks from him and he's like

[00:25:43] I've seen something man this guy has something up to him so anyways he's still giving everyone

[00:25:48] shots everyone is still drinking everyone is still having a good time and then um everyone really

[00:25:54] start noticing his bottle again and they say hey how how was your bottle not doing that like how

[00:25:59] are you doing that you're you're giving us all three shots and minus beer and in your bottle it's

[00:26:05] only one that doesn't go empty with the halls of the sack he just laughs he's like oh no don't worry

[00:26:10] about it I told you guys you should be happy I'm like I like doing this a few days to know

[00:26:17] she's a come with me after and they're like oh no way so anyways that lady she um

[00:26:25] seen him sitting there and like he was trying to hide some and he was sitting on that bargain

[00:26:30] and uh something poked out like he like almost like didn't mean to do it and he like slapped his back

[00:26:36] like this and a couple people saw it and then you know this people are kind of getting

[00:26:40] angry at them because no one wanted to drink him no more so we walked outside there's some people

[00:26:44] having a cigarette right out there and he said well he's like he walked out there and those guys

[00:26:49] out here having a cigarette he's gonna walk by them they're all kind of like we can't

[00:26:52] admit they'll stop smoking for a second here it's like I'm kind of like they're um

[00:26:57] their eyes kind of scrunched down and like kind of like wondering what he was doing and he said

[00:27:03] he was like I'm always coming through here and I just love messing with you guys he's like

[00:27:08] you guys just really love my alcohol and he says you guys don't know me but you guys will

[00:27:13] have something like that and uh they're kind of like what the hell and then he's like come on let's

[00:27:18] have another shot they don't want to take a shot with him anymore they all walked inside and some of

[00:27:23] them were kind of like well shit we should we should go ask his name and they're like let's go ask

[00:27:28] his name and name and then ask him what's your name? Your name man and oh I don't have a name

[00:27:33] I don't have a name but just just know it just me that's that's why I'm I'm just me he said

[00:27:38] oh you're weird wait what you don't have a name no I don't have no name I never had a name

[00:27:43] he said but you you'll know who I am eventually and so they kind of thought that was weird but

[00:27:48] anyways they all walked inside and he didn't come in they heard up got started up and it headed

[00:27:53] out it was snowing out though that's it was like snowing there's probably about two three inches

[00:27:57] of snow out when he walked in or when he when they all walked out some of them walked out and they were

[00:28:04] wondering they're like oh what school we can see what he left finally they went in looked outside and

[00:28:10] he was taking his boots out before he left though and he he jumped in I guess and it's a

[00:28:14] monthy and doing that but they didn't see his feet they went out there looked great by his tracks

[00:28:19] where his boots and stuff were and they seemed like my floor or cow or goat tracks are on the ground

[00:28:26] right there and they he pulled out and he headed out but man they said that they see those goat

[00:28:33] tracks are down the ground right by his where his vehicle was

[00:28:40] god damn you know there's so many stories like that too

[00:28:44] that's not the only one there were stories about it being across the street from day one the

[00:28:49] Legion bar was up I remember here no stories too when I was younger and you know that one that

[00:28:56] really freaks me out I mean the first time I ever heard of it that goat man was when flat iron

[00:29:04] was just getting built damn I was just a kid I must have been about seventh eighth grade something

[00:29:12] like that maybe even younger maybe six grade but anyways it was somewhere in middle school when

[00:29:18] it was being built it's brand new it used to just be a hill all bare right through there to

[00:29:24] glacier homes there was never any houses right there you couldn't drive over the top to

[00:29:29] the four wheeler trail if I remember right was up there that would lead across some hospital down

[00:29:33] to glacier homes but now they have all those houses read in there well it wasn't like that but

[00:29:38] when they first built them houses I remember I was staying with one of my buddies in town

[00:29:44] because you know I stayed out in tomato with my grandpa was as in town that weekend with my friend

[00:29:50] and I remember his mom was talking and she got off the phone with somebody that lived out there

[00:30:09] so that goat man came in I remember phone calls just kept coming in that morning too everybody

[00:30:14] was talking about it she said yeah that goat man walked through all these houses they said it's like

[00:30:22] it's like he was still walking on the ground like if you go outside and hit the ground that level

[00:30:27] but he walked straight through the houses so you just seen his upper half but he was still

[00:30:31] walking on the ground but through all them houses oh I guess he just made one trip reach

[00:30:37] straight through that was it didn't oh I never heard anybody say yeah he looked at me or anything

[00:30:42] didn't know he just straight ahead walked through to the main care who was around

[00:30:48] oh shit that's the first time I ever heard of that that was the first story

[00:30:55] yeah it's crazy like you know like they see these people and like it's kind of like

[00:31:00] generational like you know all those old people seem to sing a whole thing you know like back in

[00:31:04] the day when the when the forts were up and when they had these white white people times that

[00:31:12] were just you know coming to their graves you know like when they're all causing to

[00:31:15] these two are people they were told but like there was these guys that would release a file

[00:31:21] a lot of it and they'd come out and all wearing they'd come into camp and the same thing you know

[00:31:25] it was the same type of person but he came in different ways he came as a white guy but always a

[00:31:30] black coat and black hat and he was always supplying people with his alcohol and you know you

[00:31:36] always seen him at you always seen him at um that um parties is the only thing or you know

[00:31:43] different functions and that's where he would show up and you know they always say that same thing

[00:31:48] you know he always was really wealthy you know he's given everyone's that alcohol they wanted

[00:31:52] to dry out he always had a bottle ready to go

[00:31:59] yeah something creepy I never told you that that other night when we're all telling stories um

[00:32:06] so this lady up in Alaska um they're from Alaska but she had had kids with somebody from Arizona

[00:32:14] somebody from down south another tribe down there somewhere and when they went home see something

[00:32:21] happened down there but it's on the podcast you guys can check it out but some happened down there

[00:32:27] where that goat man got attached to her daughter really but her daughter was able to her mom

[00:32:36] her well wait her the mom and the daughter were able to do something to kind of get it away from

[00:32:43] them but it kind of attached to her son and uh it bothered him from when he was about seven

[00:32:52] years old tell he was about 15 16 something like that it was over a span of years it would show up

[00:33:00] to him and it would um tell him things you know and and that boy would see it he'd be on a bus

[00:33:07] and he would see it out there standing kind of waiting for him and he'd get happy because it

[00:33:12] it wasn't like uh i think it had it had him tricked like it wasn't that can mean to him or nothing

[00:33:19] so that boy was kind of excited to see him all the time almost felt like it was a friend of his

[00:33:24] because that boy didn't know any better and I remember one part of that story was uh

[00:33:31] uh in the basement they were carrying these big heavy tote boxes out of like a little crawl space

[00:33:38] into the basement and upstairs and uh that kid was in there and he was helping move everything out

[00:33:44] help it another guy move everything out of there and the other guy had to quit for some reason or

[00:33:49] go outside for something but uh that son he stayed in there and he just kept moving stuff out and

[00:33:55] they were wondering and he was mom was like hey wait a minute he's gonna be out by himself and

[00:33:59] now all I just could do this real quick and be back but what in boxes is kept coming out really

[00:34:04] fast faster than than having an adult down there who was a settler boy and they couldn't figure out

[00:34:11] how that was happening so they sent that guy he's like hey go ahead and go back down and help him now

[00:34:17] he went back down there and anyways it slowed up and after that was done his mom asked him like

[00:34:26] what how was that happening how are those boxes getting out there so fast you know this is kind of

[00:34:32] long time like years of pass and he started opening up about it more and he was going back

[00:34:37] and telling her this but she kept wondering all that time and so finally he told her you remember

[00:34:42] that time we're moving those boxes like yeah that goat man was down there with me he was helping me

[00:34:47] he had uh these shadows he was telling these shadows to go move those boxes to that door

[00:34:54] and help me move so I said so that's what they did and when that guy came back down there he said

[00:35:00] I thought he's seen goat man he says I didn't think there was anything wrong with it because

[00:35:06] every time I would see adults look at him I thought they could see him and I thought it was

[00:35:12] this normal because that guy kept looking where he was out he was crouched in a corner but those

[00:35:17] shadows disappeared he made them go but he was in the corner in the dark and he just that guy

[00:35:23] that was helping us this kept looking over there he said I thought he's seen him too so I wasn't

[00:35:27] worried about nothing but um that thing it says saying that thing they describe it as being like a

[00:35:36] giant goat it was so big that it had to like sit down on its belly and its horns are still up

[00:35:42] to the ceiling it was really big but um toward the end of that story uh it takes him on a journey

[00:35:51] somewhere it takes him it's really bad you get to listen to it take some of these places or

[00:35:56] there's a lot of suffering and a lot of shows and things it's pretty wicked but that one's probably

[00:36:01] the scariest account of goat man I've ever heard in my life but what ends up happening is um

[00:36:09] that boy figures out well he asks and he says um he says uh he says this what she look like and

[00:36:16] he says yeah I can I can change into all of these things I can uh half man half half goat

[00:36:23] he says um you know because at one point he showed him wings too he had big old wings he said I didn't

[00:36:29] know you had these that's cool he says yeah well you never asked so I just kept them hidden

[00:36:35] he says um can you change into a man and he said yeah I can

[00:36:40] he said well can you show me and he said no if I showed you you'd recognize me on TV and I don't

[00:36:48] want you to recognize me oh yeah yeah that's the part I didn't tell you is that he didn't want to

[00:36:57] be recognized because he was on TV too he's supposed to be somebody I don't know famous or something

[00:37:02] I don't know yeah oh man that's wicked it is okay I had this other story I have to so my um my

[00:37:13] grandma's a seal dog taking and she got a house right there on 464 right across

[00:37:21] kind of from the bus garage almost like like canna by um and then we're there by um

[00:37:31] um nor can you be this house right there what she looked at that house and everyone kind

[00:37:37] of they're younger and back in the day right there in 464 she always told those kids she said

[00:37:43] now you guys be careful though that road there's uh they call them um she called it a bogeyman she

[00:37:49] said it she seen it although all the time she said she encountered it I told you that story she

[00:37:54] encountered it on the way down but um she would walk that old road that old road all the way down the

[00:37:59] human missing that old road right there you remember that one hmm yeah so anyway is my dying

[00:38:06] them we're just young and they were uh was really late and she said anytime you hear dogs really parking

[00:38:12] in a bunch they're going down the street she said you stay inside because that spirit it likes to

[00:38:17] jump in different people's vehicles won't want their party and it likes to just jump in and hop in

[00:38:23] their vehicle and that's when people like you know start fighting and different things are happening

[00:38:27] it tries to kind of make you um which tries to distract you and sometimes they there's

[00:38:35] in stories told of people that were in recs with people that passed away and the last thing they

[00:38:40] remember is seeing this person in their vehicle with them like in the back if it was just them

[00:38:46] who are like they remember seeing a face and it was smiling at them or something so anyways my grandma

[00:38:53] she pulled me and she said though she pulled my dad in them she said you guys you guys um if you

[00:38:58] guys ever hear those dogs barking down the street she says you guys don't go outside she said

[00:39:02] she said don't do it she said if they're barking at something that's not there she said they're

[00:39:06] probably you know our animals they take care of us and they chase things out of our community

[00:39:10] and they talk to get about having dogs because they they see those things you know they see these

[00:39:15] entities that we can't they have a different um they have a different energy field than we do

[00:39:21] and they have the different ways of seeing these these beings that we can't in other world it

[00:39:27] so anyways it was really light 330 in the morning there's something like that right there on

[00:39:31] 464 and it was a snowy night out it was kind of I see roads and my dad and him were up in the

[00:39:39] where it's kind of all playing around outside and seeing all they right up there by the light

[00:39:45] the light they heard all these dogs said there's probably about 40 40 dogs I think she he said maybe

[00:39:51] even maybe a little less maybe a little more but they're all just punched up barking they thought

[00:39:57] they're fighting or they thought they were just all like you know after a female dog they kind

[00:40:02] of got scared my grandma wasn't home she that a relative's house she she would go visit and

[00:40:08] there was just those boys home there's about three or four of them I'm pretty sure my dad

[00:40:12] went to um bugs um my uncle snake was there he was actually he's older and he was

[00:40:20] naked uh and he uh was in the house so anyways these dogs start coming down and they're wondering

[00:40:27] what it is they think they don't really care they really listen to my grandma and when those dogs

[00:40:31] start coming down that street they're all barking just like that like they're trying to bite some

[00:40:36] so anyways they're getting in front of the house right there on twitch its floor and my dad says

[00:40:41] all of what you can remember is those dogs were all surrounding something there was nothing

[00:40:46] in the middle and he kept hearing them like he kept looking at them and they're all like

[00:40:51] kind of jumping to the middle after something that wasn't there there was nothing there at all

[00:40:55] and it was like they're all in the snow kind of like parking at us all these dogs and there's

[00:40:59] howling really ugly and next thing you know he said he sees his dog go for a bite like go for a

[00:41:05] bite and it's it's like we get slapped to the ground and there's nothing even there and this dog

[00:41:10] starts yelping and all these other dogs keep trying to go after it well then um this vehicle starts

[00:41:16] coming by and it's honking at these dogs and they must do it I don't know if there's lots of

[00:41:19] them people drinking and um they start driving by and my dad said all these hidden numbers great

[00:41:24] when he drilled by those dogs that vehicle they all start looking towards that vehicle start chasing

[00:41:29] it down the road and he said you can set things on to those people wherever they're driving by and

[00:41:34] they're kind of driving a little bit crazy but all those dogs bought for you and they're just chasing

[00:41:38] it barking really hard and it happens to that vehicle I think it's the company and I did out some

[00:41:45] chase yeah oh yeah I've seen that before you know as a kid we were always outside you know

[00:41:52] everyone was seeing that more than a few times all those dogs just barking at something but nothing's

[00:41:57] there you know and when I think back on it I've seen that and that you almost think they're fighting

[00:42:04] but they're not they're not fighting you're just barking at something yeah yeah

[00:42:10] and uh it's pretty yeah it's pretty scary because you hear it at night too even nowadays like

[00:42:17] even sometimes you hear them and what I was told he was when you're out and about and like

[00:42:22] you're doing stuff like that like the thing that attached to you is those spirits that they feed off

[00:42:27] that energy when you're spirits most vulnerable and you're spirits most vulnerable that's

[00:42:32] though the elders said they said you know stay away from fire water stay away from uh let's say

[00:42:37] they say that you know stay away from that bad that bad water because if you get to a point where

[00:42:43] you're spirit vulnerable that's what those things could follow you and they have the chance to actually

[00:42:48] come with you if you don't have your paint on you protection in a way and um I could even think of

[00:42:54] times when I heard things barking to you like all these dogs bunched up right here I lived right by

[00:43:00] the hospital it's between uh mountain view and is that feel between us in uh death row

[00:43:06] and um there's been times where we've seen animals barking at people and um there's not even a person

[00:43:14] there's about six seven eight dogs just all going at it working that's how I mean it's like a chasing

[00:43:19] saw there's not even nothing there whatsoever you know that reminds me of this this story from when

[00:43:27] I was uh when I was about if you guys in the seventh grade sometime and that same guy where his

[00:43:35] mom was taking all him phone calls that morning about that goat man same guy we I used to always

[00:43:41] stay at his house he's ahead in Nintendo we still used to play that but uh I remember it was in

[00:43:46] town and we wanted to go up to his cousin's house it was in Chinatown he lived right behind uh see where

[00:43:53] would it be right behind that new store kind of but to the south a little bit he stayed right in that

[00:43:57] area and so we were walking up past some little school and we heard it once we got it towards Chinatown

[00:44:04] like we're just getting ready to get into that those houses right there and and we heard a lot of dogs

[00:44:09] howling just howling oh bunch of them just all going off and we were always told when we're younger

[00:44:17] that when those dogs how like that you know what they're called it means someone's gonna you know

[00:44:23] pass someone's gonna pass away in here if your dogs are doing that and they all start up you're

[00:44:28] supposed to go out there and make them shut up you know so they don't call that death and so

[00:44:34] we get up to that house and I or we were walking and I said hey I said hey bro do you remember

[00:44:39] what they say about that and he said yeah he said I was just thinking about that and like oh

[00:44:45] because we were scared to even go up we didn't know those dogs that probably start

[00:44:48] trying to mess with us but we're thinking god we you know it's telling them like oh wish somebody

[00:44:53] had made them dogs be quiet he said I know like if my dad was here he would he that's gonna

[00:44:58] hurt talker's kids and we get up to that house and we sat up watch movies for a while and I remember

[00:45:07] the guy that owned the house he stayed up really late he had a girlfriend they were

[00:45:11] too young for that but he was older in us and he's like his older cousin and I remember he come

[00:45:17] waking us up on that couch he says hey he said there was a really bad wreck he said

[00:45:22] he said that girl's name but I don't want to repeat it here and she was our classmate

[00:45:27] like as she she passed away just now and we just we sat up we looked at each other and

[00:45:33] you know we always heard that when that happens there's there's something somebody's gonna pass so

[00:45:39] if he can make those dogs be quiet after yours you know yeah it's crazy how we all have that

[00:45:45] like same teaching because like that's the same thing my grandparents told me my grandpa you know

[00:45:49] he said when you hear those dogs howling really wicked like that really howling it's this

[00:45:55] there's a different way when they when they're all just howling together you know

[00:45:59] it's different when they're just howling sometimes or even how like at night when the

[00:46:02] moons out you know but there's a you know that different howl they have it's almost ugly like it

[00:46:07] almost is like a scary howl like they're like all in syncing they're all just doing it really

[00:46:12] wicked like it's kind of like them you get that eerie feeling you know and there's been times where

[00:46:17] that's happened to you know we were told that you know someone passed away or someone someone

[00:46:23] got their resting that happened where those animals are doing that you know I don't know it's

[00:46:28] that's that's pretty scary stuff though and like my grandpa told me that but yeah there so I'll

[00:46:33] tell you another story of my grandpa Lonnie so my grandpa so I'm not I'm not I grew up

[00:46:42] four ways traditionally and my grandpa was as Christian but I am much additional I don't really

[00:46:47] follow Christian ways at all but he was a beacon for the Catholic Church and father ed with you

[00:46:54] with your father ed you remember father ed right yeah so father ed I was really good I was really

[00:46:59] good friends with all those guys father ed and I was always bowed around it you know I always

[00:47:04] was holding our way you know we respect anyone's prayer prayer prayer you know even though

[00:47:08] things that happen in the past as people still in every way and you know

[00:47:13] like there are doing the mistake in chief my elder he was just posting on Facebook on Easter he said you

[00:47:17] know these people that are praying you never you never fast on them it's not the way the box

[00:47:23] keeps doing you know if they're prayerful people you do it that way but anyway so my grandpa is a

[00:47:29] beacon and they got a call at town pump and they all had to go there they had to go uh visit

[00:47:36] at the security and managers and they went back in there to see some film that they said that

[00:47:42] they were called to do so anyways they go to town pump and town pump you know town pump has all

[00:47:47] that really we get energy from all the beer that's bought there and people have seen

[00:47:52] multiple things in there and what people like that end up banishing it and nowhere and stuff and

[00:47:58] so anyways what was told and it's a story that's still around today and they don't have the

[00:48:04] paper anymore but I'll get into it so they they go to town pumping they're sitting in there like

[00:48:08] kind of like a meeting with these people and they said we we have this video and we caught

[00:48:13] something on the camera and we haven't showed anyone we haven't took a video ourselves and we

[00:48:18] want to know what it is and what we're supposed to do we kind of want to get this place blessed

[00:48:22] in the Catholic sense and stuff so they said oh yeah it will show us the video

[00:48:27] but kind of on context of this so that night it was it was that night before it was really light

[00:48:34] kind of almost before bar time people were buying up beer and everything and there was about

[00:48:40] three four different trucks and cars that are people that said they kept seeing this thing on

[00:48:44] top of town pump it was peeking over and it had horns and it was in like it was like looking at

[00:48:50] everybody and it was kind of smiling it looked like it like it had a weird face but it was on

[00:48:55] top of town pumping it was looking over that sign and some people even said it was like the

[00:49:00] ticket was sitting on top of that camera some of them that were really drunk because they said it

[00:49:03] was like I mean like sitting on top of that camera like it was a dark figure though and they said

[00:49:09] they could make out horns and like um eyes that were like white like white eyes like you had

[00:49:15] white eyes until they could describe it as white eyes with horns so they all told the people you

[00:49:21] know they're like oh man like you've seen someone talk about pump they said there's something up

[00:49:26] there said you guys have somewhere up there we're in there no we don't have anyone up there so they

[00:49:30] kind of were kind of looking upon themselves to like look at what was going on and so the late

[00:49:35] night workers were there and um the the people they went in looked at security guard was looking

[00:49:43] on the cameras and he he was kind of just trying to pay attention because all these people that

[00:49:48] were seeing this thing kind of jumping around on top there and like looking at all the people

[00:49:52] that were leaving and smiling kind of like he was happy that all these people were buying up alcohol

[00:49:59] and so um anyways they look at that camera and when he looked on there um there was uh um

[00:50:08] there was a face on there and they said no shit it was the scariest looking thing they've ever seen

[00:50:13] in it had it was a see through you could see through its face and you could see everything behind it

[00:50:18] but same thing it had white eyes and it had horns like going back I know almost like

[00:50:23] goat man like you know really wicked sense though like it was like evil like if you're

[00:50:28] calling this thing was evil and my grandfather on him when they're sitting down they showed him that

[00:50:33] video and it kind of like showed its face before we like on for maybe five seconds and then it

[00:50:38] disappeared and um you know that video I've shown you at Charlie's place with that guy that's

[00:50:43] seen that figure that showed up and it's kind of like sacked there and was looking at him yeah

[00:50:48] well it was the same sense right there and when my grandfather ed looked at it they said well we

[00:50:53] got to we've got to take this film don't record it take uh video right now to leave this footage and

[00:50:59] give us give us the tape so my grandpa Ronnie and grew up my um and father ed they took that tape

[00:51:05] in me so that it was one of the most scariest things I've seen the only thing they could describe but

[00:51:09] as they called it the devil because you know they're Christians and that's what all the red

[00:51:14] cities said that's the devil he said he's uh he's praying upon everyone here that's

[00:51:18] finest alcohol and he said you guys are gonna want to uh smudge this place because he's probably

[00:51:23] has set him up with sleep and he's trying to do to our people right now and but what my grandpa

[00:51:28] Ronnie said is he said he remembers those old people saying it was that man that goat man that

[00:51:32] really likes people to get drunk and he was just happy like running around all all uh we get on top

[00:51:39] of the roof and come pump so they go back to the church and it's probably I don't know maybe a week later

[00:51:46] week later they're meeting on it and they actually send that tape they send it to the um

[00:51:51] to the uh the bishop here in Helena and um they send it to him and he meets on it and they just

[00:51:59] tell him to burn it they want to burn it and just get rid of it so they ended up burning that

[00:52:04] they didn't they were unable to show it and then they had a pump closed off in the daytime for

[00:52:09] I think almost like two hours in my grandfather remembers him and father Ed going in there and

[00:52:13] blessing that whole place and while they're in there father Ed gets really light headed while he's

[00:52:19] well he's um kind of cleansing it out in my grandpa you know he believes in retraditional

[00:52:24] like who he was Catholic because he he was raised in the boarding school with a really

[00:52:28] I hate to say this but you know he was raised with a really bad guy called he called him father

[00:52:32] mom and and he was one of the priests here on our reservation that molested a lot of kids and did

[00:52:39] really bad things to kids and my grandpa is one of his main altar boys and um so that's why he kind

[00:52:46] of had this Christian you know way of believing and so anyways when he was in there he brought

[00:52:51] he brought in his own cleansing stuff you know and he um he was cleansing it too but what they remember

[00:52:57] is going in the back area and by the alcohol and where you stalk it it's really cold back there

[00:53:02] they got to keep it cold he said father Ed was right there you know using their incense if they

[00:53:07] use and praying and splashing holy water in there and he said all your members father Ed getting

[00:53:13] really light headed and almost thing and then he gets by that alcohol and he said he just start

[00:53:18] going all over the place and he said hey are you okay and father Ed says yeah he said I think I found

[00:53:23] out with a scarlet to hang out so I think he like sort of look at all these people buying alcohol

[00:53:27] right here he's probably looking through the back right there when you're buying alcohol at

[00:53:32] town pump and so um they clean it out but my grandpa says that he said when they get to the back

[00:53:40] of town pump and a dark back there with all the supplies where they get their shippings and

[00:53:45] they chased whatever it was off that back door they said they seen a black figure just taking

[00:53:50] off some of them really scared along you know because it's you know the in the Christian way you

[00:53:55] know they have their strong ways too and they're traditional way too though my grandpa had his medicine

[00:54:00] there and whatever it was was really scared it father Ed said as long as this alcohol is here that

[00:54:06] thing's gonna come back every once in a while but he told those workers well we got rid of it you know

[00:54:11] whatever it is we got rid of it for now but he said I don't believe in alcohol like this and he said

[00:54:16] it's gonna come back to matter how long you guys keep having this here and so it's gonna keep

[00:54:21] well hanging around that night and people are gonna come back he said it'll be back and

[00:54:26] said as long as you guys keep selling it it's gonna come back but yeah I guess uh

[00:54:32] it was a man and what's creepy about it is it must be back because so my cousin I'll get the video

[00:54:38] it's online so I don't know if you know who Ryan running wolf is um

[00:54:42] fungal Tyson running wolf son so he worked as a teller at the um

[00:54:49] as uh um

[00:54:52] as a teller right there in Tom Pump and this just happened last year a little over a year ago

[00:54:57] and he posted online so Chris Higgins was Chris Higgins was recording this woman he's kind of

[00:55:04] flirting with her and he was a teller though and like they're all recording and there was a old guy

[00:55:09] there that was working as security or as custodian there's only three or four of them in there

[00:55:14] and that whole store so you know how there's a bell right there at um the deli

[00:55:21] so there's a bell right there at the deli and like people could ring it when they want food and

[00:55:25] stuff and there's no one else in that whole store no one buy that bell or anything and well

[00:55:30] Chris is with you and uh that that girl's in there in front of him Ryan just right here kind of

[00:55:36] in the front and that guy right there's towards the door and then there's a girl right here

[00:55:40] all of a sudden they just kind of hear that bell being and it's on video

[00:55:44] I could send it to you and post it with that bell rings out in the way and

[00:55:49] like it's like wanting some um and kind of trying to want them to pay attention and whole

[00:55:53] they just point at it at this point set that um points at that um

[00:55:58] um

[00:56:00] uh deli bell and whole there's all get spooked out in there all just like shock feel like

[00:56:05] oh shit like you get here that I just ring by itself and you know there's no way that can

[00:56:09] ring by itself

[00:56:15] they're still around I mean those stores are convenience stores there's a

[00:56:21] god i'm convinced every one of them that sells you know alcohol from the past to now

[00:56:26] Jesus always stuff that happens they're like in that P&M over there

[00:56:33] that used to sell a lot of alcohol and there's stuff that hangs around there too you know

[00:56:38] yep or even uh it's placed you know like there's been stories around there that

[00:56:43] there's a lot of stories of people there that will be in there by themselves and there's

[00:56:47] something there that likes to hang around and um bother people in there

[00:56:52] they see it all the time too it's always a black figure you know like in our ways too

[00:56:57] like those black figures they're using wise they're gonna be so low they're in different realm

[00:57:01] that's not good but like they're gonna show themselves in different ways and you know it's

[00:57:05] one of the main alcohol things there is and I always see it in there

[00:57:12] hey if you don't mind switching gears here um can you talk well since today

[00:57:17] they had that eclipse i mean we couldn't view it here in Montana we couldn't see it you know

[00:57:21] but it was further down south but when we were talking um last night when I was talking on that one

[00:57:27] podcast i would i'd never been taught anything about that so i was just kind of trying to figure things

[00:57:34] on my own basically shooting from the hip but could you speak about some of the things that you

[00:57:38] were talking about the eclipses yeah so um so there's a couple stories that can tell you that we were

[00:57:48] told by different elders and one of those stories was told i seen it and some of our people you

[00:57:55] know they posted on facebook but there's an elder by the name of Wilton Goodstrich here and

[00:58:00] what he was told us he said that the old people were told that maybe we were misbehaving in a way

[00:58:06] that old man turns away for a bit and we pray that we make a mend to him so that's all good

[00:58:11] and then he creeps back towards us and the black foot word for solar eclipse is uh it was

[00:58:17] taught by James and it says the uh marshes blood calls it not blue sea it's sassy it's called the sun

[00:59:24] held very sacred because they hold it all in knowledge and when they speak there's power in their

[01:00:04] powers kind of kind of stopped and that's why which was the prayer and today I prayed really hard

[01:00:15] it's a time where you're supposed to be calm and you're supposed to pray kind of it's almost a

[01:00:21] room to rule so anyways there's another story too it says that they said that it's the death of

[01:00:28] not you see through a minute because cook me kiss him catches up women we pray that he comes back out

[01:00:33] and shines upon us again and it's like uh it's like we're processing that as another person that's

[01:00:45] passing on and going into the spirit world you know and so when going into the spirit realm so

[01:00:50] when we do that you know we pray for him it's the only time we pray for not you see I don't ever

[01:00:54] you know out of everything not you see praise for us we ask upon his prayer but for a minute

[01:01:00] cook me kiss him covers him like they said in that story there's a story behind it I'll get more

[01:01:04] info on that story of how why he got cook me kiss him mad but there's reason why it's day and night

[01:01:11] and when she catches up to him they say it's almost like he's death like he's a way for a second

[01:01:16] until like when it happens we get a prayers men who got renewal and strength for ourselves in that

[01:01:21] it's kind of almost like a new life forming for ourselves and we could also start a new life so

[01:01:29] they say like if you're going through things and if you flip your life not going in a good way

[01:01:34] when you pray and you're fast or when you're when it's happening you know you give your energy

[01:01:40] all to praying and praying for creator and also praying for the light to show again because in that moment

[01:01:46] the cook me kiss him covers him it's like a moment of weakening for weakening for us but it's

[01:01:54] a time for us to pray for our strength back out because it means our prayers could be heard in

[01:01:59] even better way but so you could actually change your life as we're saying so that's the whole

[01:02:05] reason why we coexist with women and that's why we have to respect them is because of that power go

[01:02:09] to make you should hold and she has that power to overpower him so like there's no other thing

[01:02:15] that can block out the sun you know like there's no other thing that can stop him from doing his

[01:02:20] duty except for go to make you should but that's just kind of like a little story I give you I guess

[01:02:26] I didn't really um it's just like how we after look at it you know it's kind of looking at us as

[01:02:32] really normal in a way and it makes sense not that she talk about it like that I mean I noticed one

[01:02:39] of those old stories where I think it's from from Percy Bullchild I think he's the one that said uh

[01:02:46] well you know a long time ago before before Mudman or Ribbwoman was here they they lived here

[01:02:53] and um and at one point he he had to um well she got corrupted by that snake that snake starts saying

[01:03:02] oh you don't know how bad that you know the sun is you don't know how bad he wiped out my people twice

[01:03:09] you know just whispering like that into her ear and finally that's the story bro yeah

[01:03:14] yeah and finally she kind of gave in and not do see he knew he knew but first night he got back

[01:03:21] to that lodge when he came back and the sun went down he went back to his lodge he knew that night

[01:03:26] he could smell that that snake and he gave him gave her time to to come clean but she wouldn't

[01:03:34] you know and she stuck with it so that's when they made that plan to do away with that snake

[01:03:39] and to do away with uh Kokomiki soon her wickedness and so they killed that that snake and

[01:03:47] those seven boys that they had they had she was chasing them and she was gonna you know do

[01:03:51] away with them too to get back at the sun and so yeah there was a those old stories like that are

[01:04:02] they really make me think you know they really make me think because

[01:04:07] what you're saying just makes sense because now it kind of all fits I kind of understand it a little more

[01:04:14] there is a there is a part that um you know I never understood about eclipses but with you saying

[01:04:20] what she said it makes sense when you tie it all in with those old stories because they really

[01:04:24] made me think when I first heard those stories and in red them too you know I think about those but

[01:04:35] because we're not gonna see another eclipse for a while here so hopefully I live long enough to see one

[01:04:55] the reason why it's so important for people to know our creation stories is because when you go

[01:04:59] to our ceremonies you understand them better and you understand our way of life and what the things

[01:05:11] eclipse or the eclipse is there's a whole story reason why that comes about and just like you're

[01:05:15] saying that that story about that snake the entice star who can make these humans ended up cheating on

[01:05:22] not Lucy you know she she fell in love with a different man so he he kind of banished her in a way

[01:05:27] where he she was mad at him so she's always chasing him and for a moment in time like the eclipse

[01:05:34] she catches up to him and she overpowers him and it's almost like the death of not Lucy so that's

[01:05:39] what I say in your unit what the thing about snakes like you're saying they wiped them out

[01:05:43] their in our creation stories they say the snakes were the first ones here

[01:05:48] put or say like um they say that was the dinosaurs though like they're kind of like in a way

[01:05:54] it was the dinosaur era like when crater wiped them out and that's what the snakes were about

[01:05:59] that they were the first living thing on earth and when crater put them on here they start doing

[01:06:03] really bad things so he wiped them all out but a few survived there's only a couple and that's

[01:06:08] why they hide around and stuff you know they hide in holes and stuff and when she went to go

[01:06:14] meet with that snake he came out and nowhere but he would turn himself into a really fine looking man

[01:06:18] and that's why they say snakes kind of have like this devious wave come on but they're also really

[01:06:24] powerful in our way because they aren't ancient but yeah and that's what I was told too is like when

[01:06:30] she was trying to do that to her sons and that's where we get the seven brothers you know

[01:06:36] big differ that's where that's where they are they're always in the sky those seven brothers that's

[01:06:40] where they they flood too and they're all right there together but yeah it's uh that's kind of like

[01:06:47] the whole way our whole black feet knowledge and wisdom and our stories come how together to

[01:06:53] our ceremonies you know because like in the in the medicine pipe ceremony you know you always have

[01:06:58] nina and you have oki you know like they say there's a man this ground is holy they say there's a woman

[01:07:05] this ground this ground is holy they're always saying that but what I'm saying is that song

[01:07:11] you know these stories you understand what they're saying and what they always tell us

[01:07:15] nina or anophi and then they always say woman and you know it's a balance so that's what I'm

[01:07:22] saying like this eclipse is actually a really powerful time not only for for us but for the spirit

[01:07:28] world in it kind of like almost a moment where it's really powerful energy and that's what I

[01:07:34] noticed today like I honestly noticed I was really tired today bro like oh so I got I got off

[01:07:40] work early I told my colleagues at work I said well boys we're just a crater in this time so I

[01:07:45] went inside the buffalo you know and I I uh today I went to work and when I came home with me my mom

[01:07:51] prayed really hard and right after I got done praying bro it was almost like all my energy was

[01:07:55] took for me so I took a nap so I took a nap probably around like one 30 or two bro and I slept

[01:08:00] almost called four four five there when you were messaging I just got done showering again

[01:08:06] after working got my hair braided but I noticed my energy was kind of feeling a little low and

[01:08:12] I was kind of thinking back on it you know like your our men's energy is kind of really kind of

[01:08:17] almost cooked in a way by overpowered by that so like it's kind of not good in a way to be outside

[01:08:22] doing a lot of work they say because our man energy from not to see that energy we have to have

[01:08:29] it all the time and it's a balance in that night that's when our women are most powerful doing away

[01:08:35] but yeah it's pretty cool stuff you know just thinking about our creation stories and how it all

[01:08:39] ties together with the elements and the things that we deal with in nature and the slush jewels

[01:08:44] in our stars and everything you know I remember at the end of that story too what they say when uh

[01:08:53] when the sun the moon big dipper and the earth all aligned that's supposed to be the end of

[01:09:01] mankind that's when Goku Miku-su actually catches the sun catches those boys and that's supposed to be

[01:09:09] it for us and I've thought about that over these years and I wondered you know how they have

[01:09:15] those constellation um you can put in a date and it'll give you a star map of the future or the past

[01:09:24] I wondered as this curious like what if you could just fast forward that and look and look and look

[01:09:30] to see when those all align I bet you if you did you would see that day and get that well a relative

[01:09:38] guesstimation or when that's supposed to be but you know that's kind of just far fetched thinking

[01:09:44] I think but it's fun to think about when I when you know those stories and you know what

[01:09:49] what they're about they make she wonder like really does it does bro it makes you make she question

[01:09:56] a lot of stuff like you know and like that's why they told us to be still you know they told us to

[01:10:01] pray just because you have to read your own energy that's what I did today put into praying stuff

[01:10:14] I noticed the the goodness in it though you know it's not bad is what I was told it's not bad but

[01:10:20] it's kind of like a renewal that's what I'm saying so it's almost like a two story for Naki Usi

[01:10:25] because he comes back and shines again and it's a really powerful moment just looking outside right

[01:10:30] now in my window not juicy shining right now and you know he's he's renewed it's almost like he

[01:10:35] cleanses himself in a way like he cleanses all the negative himself and that's like why we pray

[01:10:41] for him too because no one's perfect you know even creator might have some imperfections where he

[01:10:47] has to renew himself in a way you know but yeah

[01:10:56] so another thing I was going to ask you about is um what stories and stuff do you know about

[01:11:02] the sweetgrass hills if you have time yeah yeah I could tell you quick one um

[01:11:09] so what I was told is the sweetgrass hills are really sacred to us and the only reason why we thought

[01:11:17] we were getting them back so when that treaty when we signed with the US government to that line

[01:11:23] they told us in a hundred years we're gonna get that that treat that um we're gonna get that line

[01:11:29] back and so a hundred years passed already and you haven't got those those places back but it was a

[01:11:35] place where people to fast do and it was a really strong access point and what I was told it was

[01:11:40] a wormhole so kind of describing a wormhole to people that you guys don't know it's sort of like the

[01:11:47] a port way a portal for our people to use to access not to see and the stars in a even greater way

[01:11:54] and people were known to travel it and find it if they found it and so there's been stories of

[01:12:00] giants bro that stayed there and they were really really wicked people and they used to hide out

[01:12:05] there because they were able to show out I don't know where and then head out and there's old stories

[01:12:40] go through our whole world in the way that he could wipe out any negativity and when he was in

[01:12:47] there he wiped out a lot of giants a lot of big things that were really bad to our people and

[01:12:53] it's a whole two like if you go there at night that's when a lot of things come out and

[01:12:58] you know I think a lot of bad spirits they they come out of that portal at night and there's

[01:13:03] honestly a really scary story I was told to and I have to get it again told to me because it's been

[01:13:08] a long time since I heard it but like they're saying that giant is really ugly and like really

[01:13:12] scary like almost like like he almost like is like a goat man in a way but he's he don't have horns

[01:13:18] or anything but he was he's really big and he likes to feed on people and like babies and it goes

[01:13:24] back to that story my dad was calling about my grandma spotted he go Jenny Jenny and um her

[01:13:31] her parents are her grandparents were the ones that had experienced that man either of those babies

[01:13:36] and um that's where he stood reside when he would head out and he would come out and nowhere

[01:13:41] out of those that port way in sweet grass hills because that energy field so high but when people

[01:13:46] fast their cue it's so powerful that you could actually access a lot of good dreams and a lot of

[01:13:51] good visions from there because the energy that's there and you know we had we'd hunt there we

[01:13:56] would gather we would get sweet grass they they call it the sweet grass hills because there's a lot

[01:14:01] of good sweet grass there I don't know if you knew that bro oh I didn't yeah there's a lot of good

[01:14:06] sweet grass you could pick up there and like we would we we respected those hills such in a good way

[01:14:12] because of that portal entry in the sweet grass hills hmm I figured there was sweet grass there

[01:15:01] travel was right there either with trail but yeah I don't know people know the wolf trail in our

[01:15:06] way but the wolf trail is a Milky Way and that's where they call it the wolf trail because it's

[01:15:12] a way to travel or galaxy and it's a trail made by our um McQueen you know our wolf our wolves are

[01:15:19] the ones that are really powerful but there's a story behind that feed but yeah that's just one of

[01:15:25] the things I was told about it was that it's a portal entry to the other side and to our galaxy

[01:15:32] it's really interesting that story of the wolf trail too because when I think of that story

[01:15:38] I think I think uh this is where we get dogman this is where we get all these remember because those

[01:15:46] those wolves were they turned into people those spirits made themselves like people and they

[01:15:52] lived with the people and they even start having kids with the people see the bible has story of

[01:15:57] the nephilim the giants that happened to us too but in our way it was the animals that did

[01:16:02] done it really it really caused a lot of problems so they quit doing that but you know when you

[01:16:09] really think about it like black feet we learned a lot from those wolves there are ones that taught

[01:16:14] us how to hunt you know and and had a war and all these things and it was off from that time too
