Episode 42. Adia - The Spirit was Glitching

[00:00:20] I could hear the ringing in my ears, I could feel my heart race.

[00:00:25] So I hit my life and I went flying up there.

[00:00:30] I've been told by some older people, elders, you grab them and you hold them and you don't own them

[00:00:40] but you hold them there until daylight if we can hold them or pull them into the light

[00:00:46] it destroys anything they have.

[00:00:49] Any kind of power or anything that they were trying to do to you, it'll destroy them.

[00:00:56] This guy was like bouncing.

[00:00:58] You know how you see people getting ready to jig?

[00:01:03] He was like that way, he was just kind of bouncing and he was just going back and forth

[00:01:09] one foot to the other and he just turned sideways and he turned back over to the other way

[00:01:16] and he took off, holy sh** he jumped in and wanded up.

[00:01:29] This next episode that we have right here is, it comes from my niece

[00:01:35] and she's a resident of Blackfee Reservation.

[00:01:39] She stays up there with her mother at this place where there's a lot of things that happen

[00:01:46] in that little area where they live.

[00:01:49] It's actually right next to the place where a lot of people see that goat man thing

[00:01:55] and her house is, or her bomb lose is a haunted place

[00:02:00] and what's interesting about this place is these are some new houses.

[00:02:05] It's like one of the newest subdivisions that are built on the res.

[00:02:11] That just goes to show that it doesn't matter if it's a new house, an old house or whatever.

[00:02:18] There are things around and they're certainly there too at this set, her house.

[00:02:24] She talks a lot about the experiences at her house

[00:02:29] and at her grandparents on either side of her family, both grandparents.

[00:02:34] She talks about those stories.

[00:02:36] And I guess one of the things that I come away with on this episode is

[00:02:44] sometimes people get bothered and they don't really know how to protect themselves against these things.

[00:02:50] And I would say to anybody out there that is experiencing, you know, like the paranormal

[00:02:58] and you don't really know what to do about it,

[00:03:00] I would first seek that knowledge from your family or your way, your religious ways

[00:03:09] like whatever religion you come from.

[00:03:11] For us natives we always rely on the smudges and once those don't work,

[00:03:17] if they're ineffective then we go further.

[00:03:19] We go and get painted or we even see if we can't do anything more.

[00:03:26] We'll sit down and visit with our spiritual leaders and kind of let them take it from there

[00:03:32] and see what they can do to help us.

[00:03:35] I always feel bad for the people that can't help themselves,

[00:03:39] that don't really know what to do or that feel helpless.

[00:03:44] But just know that you're not helpless.

[00:03:47] You can pray in your own way and you can ask for that protection and that guidance.

[00:03:54] And a lot of times those things stop just by praying about it.

[00:04:00] And you know, pray for those things too.

[00:04:03] That sounds weird but imagine you didn't make it across when you pass away

[00:04:11] and you're stuck here and you don't know what to do and you're lost.

[00:04:16] You would probably need somebody to pray for you to help you along.

[00:04:20] So don't be afraid to pray for those things that are bothering you.

[00:04:23] Just have them take pity on you.

[00:04:26] I wouldn't know how to tell you to word it.

[00:04:32] I would just word it in my own way.

[00:04:35] I would just ask it to take pity on me.

[00:04:37] Leave me alone.

[00:04:39] Stop bothering me and go into the light.

[00:04:43] You need to cross over to the other side.

[00:04:47] You shouldn't be here.

[00:04:49] Just leave us alone and ask whatever the Creator to take it away from you.

[00:04:57] Because when you got that backing of the Creator there's nothing more powerful than that.

[00:05:03] Now this is granted that you believe in these ways.

[00:05:07] So if you don't and these things are happening, again I would rely on my family

[00:05:13] or even go and seek knowledge elsewhere that you're comfortable with

[00:05:21] that can help you get rid of these things because there's multiple ways to do it.

[00:05:26] That ain't just a native way. There's other ways to do it too.

[00:05:30] So I wanted to kind of share that with people

[00:05:34] in the hopes that if things are happening to you

[00:05:38] we'll know where to go to get help to have these things quit.

[00:05:43] Alright, let's get into the show.

[00:05:46] So I was coming down from the middle school that long road that leads to dispatch.

[00:06:03] I was coming down from there and my headlights weren't too good and I saw someone walking.

[00:06:11] I was like, oh look at that guy.

[00:06:14] He was shaking all weird.

[00:06:17] Like he was dancing almost.

[00:06:20] And he had really shaky hair and he was really bony.

[00:06:26] He was walking in like, it was really weird the way he was walking.

[00:06:34] Like he was taking like long steps, really long steps.

[00:06:42] But he was almost falling over but he was like, it was weird.

[00:06:49] He was dancing in a way he was almost falling though.

[00:06:54] Weird.

[00:06:56] And I was like really like, when I saw that it was like in a trance almost.

[00:07:02] Because I started driving slow even though I didn't even realize it.

[00:07:06] Like I started driving really slow and I saw it.

[00:07:09] And I was staring at it for like a good five minutes.

[00:07:13] And then I remember I seen him start slowing down

[00:07:16] and he stopped and he started turning towards me.

[00:07:19] I remember that whole time I just had this heavy feeling on my chest.

[00:07:23] Like I couldn't breathe but like I couldn't look away.

[00:07:27] And this was like when I turned up towards dispatch he was like walking kind of fast though.

[00:07:33] Like keeping ahead of the car.

[00:07:37] Like I don't know how to explain it but he was like walking fast enough

[00:07:41] where he was like staying ahead of the car.

[00:07:43] And then like when he was like walking he like started turning towards me

[00:07:50] and I was like looking at him and I was like oh my god like should I go?

[00:07:54] Like I was like kind of stuck.

[00:07:57] I was like oh my god like what do I do?

[00:08:00] And like when he looked at me I couldn't see his face.

[00:08:03] But like I could see like the outline of his body.

[00:08:06] Because he was like still in front of the car and my headlights were bad at the time.

[00:08:10] I remember I just got this really ugly feeling.

[00:08:13] I like wanted to puke when I saw him.

[00:08:17] And like I start like my heart started racing and I started like breathing fast.

[00:08:22] Like and then everybody just like floored it past him.

[00:08:26] But when I floored it past him it sounded like there's like tapping on the side of the car.

[00:08:31] And like I didn't want to look back because I was scared like he was going to be following me.

[00:08:35] Like keeping up with the car.

[00:08:38] But like I could hear like tapping like if someone was like tapping the hand against the back of your tail light.

[00:08:43] That's what it sounded like all the way up until like I got past the cemetery back to my house.

[00:08:51] Did he look like a drunk or a street person or something?

[00:08:57] No he like...

[00:09:00] Like you know when you can tell there's a drunk and like there's something following him around?

[00:09:05] Yeah.

[00:09:07] Well like this he didn't look like a person.

[00:09:11] He looked like more cryptic.

[00:09:13] Like I don't know how to explain it other than cryptic you know?

[00:09:17] He was like skinny and like long.

[00:09:21] Weird.

[00:09:25] But he was like shaking when he was like doing that little dance.

[00:09:29] Like he was like...

[00:09:31] I don't know it looked like he was glitching almost.

[00:09:33] Weird.

[00:09:36] That's so many times you've seen it though huh?

[00:09:39] Yeah and then there was one time down by Ix in that back alleyway.

[00:09:44] I saw something like that but it was like walking behind this group of drunks.

[00:09:49] But like that was like the second time and I was like no I don't want to stay for that

[00:09:56] because like I know it happened last time.

[00:09:59] And I was like I don't want it to follow me home so I just like drove off.

[00:10:05] Was it doing the same sort of walk or what?

[00:10:09] No it was like shaking when it was following them.

[00:10:12] It wasn't dancing or anything but it was like shaking when it was following them.

[00:10:17] Dang that's probably...

[00:10:20] Seems like one of those alcohol spirits doesn't it?

[00:10:24] Yeah.

[00:10:30] There was this one time and I was down at Grandma Molly's.

[00:10:34] I was staying in that camper by myself.

[00:10:37] Because like up at Grandma's it was too full.

[00:10:40] I was staying down there by myself and it was like one in the morning

[00:10:45] and like the generator was turned off.

[00:10:47] It was like dead silent in that camper.

[00:10:50] And I was like fuck I should probably go get some water inside of like Grandma Molly's house.

[00:10:55] And like because like it was really cold out there and I was like

[00:10:58] I'll grab an extra blanket too so I like got out.

[00:11:01] And like the camper was kind of far away like it was more further in that field.

[00:11:06] So it was like a walk to Grandma Molly's.

[00:11:09] And then I remember I like came out of that camper.

[00:11:11] I like closed it and I start walking.

[00:11:14] And I like maybe got like 12 steps away from that camper.

[00:11:19] And I start hearing like crying in the distance.

[00:11:22] And it was like darkest heck out.

[00:11:24] And I remember when I first started hearing that crying

[00:11:27] I heard like the dogs like stand up like all of them stood up.

[00:11:31] And like it just went dead silent.

[00:11:33] And I could hear that crying and it just started growing like louder.

[00:11:36] And I could hear like the leaves rustling like way down there.

[00:11:40] Like across the river.

[00:11:42] And I was like what the fuck is that?

[00:11:45] And I was like Grandma Molly's house is like right there.

[00:11:48] And I was like if I go back to the camper it's just me.

[00:11:51] So I like kept walking fast and those dogs like all face towards the river.

[00:11:56] And I could hear it getting louder.

[00:11:58] And then I could start hearing like that water like splashing.

[00:12:02] And I was like oh my god like I'm scared like what if the door is locked.

[00:12:07] So I like turned around and I start running towards that camper

[00:12:10] and I could hear something like thumping behind me really fast.

[00:12:13] And I could hear the crying still and it was like sounded like it was right there.

[00:12:18] And I remember I like ripped open that camper door.

[00:12:20] And when I closed it it felt like something was trying to pull on it.

[00:12:24] But I like closed it really hard.

[00:12:26] And I just held it there and I sat on that step.

[00:12:29] And I was like crying and I was like praying.

[00:12:33] And I was like oh my god it's just me like I have no service.

[00:12:37] And then I was just up that whole night until like 5 in the morning.

[00:12:41] And then I called like Papa to come get me.

[00:12:45] But you didn't hear anything else?

[00:12:47] It didn't keep trying to get in or anything?

[00:12:49] No, no it kept like scratching up the sides of the camper.

[00:12:53] What is it?

[00:12:57] Scratching up the windows.

[00:12:59] It sounded like a woman at first.

[00:13:04] And then when it got closer it sounded more deep and like disordered.

[00:13:13] And then when it was like right behind me and I could hear it,

[00:13:16] like when it was chasing me, it sounded like really deep voiced.

[00:13:20] And it was like screaming at me.

[00:13:23] It didn't even sound like a cry anymore.

[00:13:29] I wonder what it was?

[00:13:31] I was like really scared. I didn't even look behind me.

[00:13:36] Bigfoot?

[00:13:41] Probably.

[00:13:43] You said it was walking and it had big thumps behind you?

[00:13:47] No, it was like running behind me when I started running.

[00:13:50] Oh.

[00:13:54] I don't know, it could have been anything.

[00:13:56] Some bad spirit or something.

[00:14:00] Yeah, I was like just in that camper by myself.

[00:14:05] Did you ever stand there again by yourself?

[00:14:07] Oh no, that was the last time.

[00:14:11] Is that the one that Clifford was staying in?

[00:14:15] Yeah, I think so.

[00:14:17] Oh yeah, it's way over that little hill and down.

[00:14:20] Where it was anyway.

[00:14:22] Was it in that same spot?

[00:14:25] No, it was like moved a little bit away.

[00:14:28] Oh.

[00:14:30] That would have been scary.

[00:14:34] I know I was just crying when I got into that camper.

[00:14:38] Do you remember that time when we were down?

[00:14:41] You were at our house and I was telling you,

[00:14:45] you know I don't really get scared of too many things.

[00:14:48] You know, remember we were watching the scary videos

[00:14:52] and I said it's got to really be scary to scare me.

[00:14:56] I don't really get creeped out too much in movies or whatever.

[00:15:00] Like you know like that light has to turn off and turn on

[00:15:04] to scare me then it turned off and turned on.

[00:15:07] Yeah.

[00:15:09] I thought that was weird.

[00:15:11] To this day I can't make it do that.

[00:15:16] Really?

[00:15:18] Yeah.

[00:15:20] Because you know like how you barely have it plugged in?

[00:15:25] I thought it was that.

[00:15:27] But I can't make it do that even when it's just barely plugged in

[00:15:30] and it stays on, it don't flicker.

[00:15:33] Like on and off.

[00:15:35] Yeah.

[00:15:38] That was weird.

[00:15:40] I remember you just kind of like eww.

[00:15:44] That was kind of weird.

[00:15:48] So I remember, I don't know you don't have to talk about it

[00:15:53] but I remember you saying there was a,

[00:15:57] you thought there was maybe something following you around at one point?

[00:16:03] Yeah.

[00:16:05] Does it still?

[00:16:07] Yeah.

[00:16:09] A couple weeks ago it sounded like someone broke into my house

[00:16:13] and I was sitting in my room alone

[00:16:15] and like my TV wasn't even on

[00:16:18] and I could hear like heavy footsteps walking around the kitchen

[00:16:21] and the living room and like,

[00:16:23] I even heard it going to my mom's room

[00:16:26] and like I could hear like things moving around like the chairs

[00:16:30] and then I remember my door was unlocked

[00:16:32] and I was like oh fuck and like I was on my bed

[00:16:34] so I like creeped over there and I locked it

[00:16:37] but my lock is kind of loud

[00:16:39] and I remember when I locked it I heard the footsteps

[00:16:41] that come in towards my room

[00:16:43] and then I heard the laundry like moving around

[00:16:46] and then I heard scratching

[00:16:48] and I was like maybe it's Zarea, my cat

[00:16:50] but I was like wait Zarea doesn't scare scratch

[00:16:54] and then I was like Zarea

[00:16:57] and like I didn't hear her meow

[00:17:00] and I was like oh fuck

[00:17:02] so I was like oh my god

[00:17:04] and like I heard like it got dead silent in my house

[00:17:07] like I could hear myself breathing dead silent

[00:17:10] and then like something pushed up against my door

[00:17:13] and start breathing really loud

[00:17:15] and really fast into the door frame

[00:17:18] and it was scratching at my door when it was doing that

[00:17:22] and my door handle was shaking

[00:17:25] and I remember when it stopped I went out there

[00:17:30] and nobody was in there but all my chairs were moved around

[00:17:33] and like some drawers were opened in the kitchen

[00:17:37] yeah

[00:17:38] oh

[00:17:42] did your mom, what did, have you told her about stuff like that?

[00:17:45] yeah I told everyone about it

[00:17:47] but she didn't do anything we just smudged the house

[00:17:51] dang

[00:17:54] I think it's kind of creepy that you guys live up there

[00:17:57] by where they used to chase around that goat man

[00:18:01] oh yeah

[00:18:03] and then like um like two nights ago

[00:18:07] I was um I was playing my game on my phone

[00:18:10] and remember I looked to my left

[00:18:12] and I have this rocking chair in my room

[00:18:14] and I had my earbuds in

[00:18:16] when I looked to my left the rocking chair was moving

[00:18:19] and like I have no lights on in my room

[00:18:21] sometimes at night

[00:18:23] and I swear I seen like a shadow of an old lady

[00:18:26] sitting there rocking back and forth in my chair

[00:18:30] and I like I like looked at my chair

[00:18:32] and my chair was rocking but I didn't see anything

[00:18:34] but I could keep seeing her out of this corner in my eye

[00:18:41] dang

[00:18:42] do you always see that?

[00:18:47] yeah I always see her

[00:18:49] it's like always an old lady

[00:18:53] jesus

[00:18:55] and it's like whenever I leave Browning

[00:18:58] um I just get this heavy feeling when I go down 89

[00:19:42] I woke up and a tiny piece of my hair was braided

[00:21:09] really?

[00:21:16] I wonder if that's what turned off the TV down here

[00:22:51] to go and pull that thing out of him

[00:22:57] yeah he was one of those guys that was there

[00:22:59] one of these days when I'm at his house

[00:23:04] see if he'll tell me that story about

[00:23:06] what happened that time

[00:23:09] but yeah there was a lot of old powerful men there

[00:23:11] old holy men you know that were there

[00:23:15] or that were called in to do that

[00:23:18] you know this is really vague

[00:23:22] but geez for some reason I want to say

[00:23:29] somewhere like maybe sweet pine

[00:23:33] but they were at some sort of an encampment

[00:23:35] and the kid my cousin was just playing around

[00:23:38] he said you know he started acting weird

[00:23:40] and see because those old

[00:23:42] those holy guys were already there

[00:23:45] yeah they didn't get called in there

[00:23:47] that I remember

[00:23:50] and anyways they gathered him up and they start

[00:23:52] doctored him pulling that thing out of him

[00:23:54] but yeah Gigi was there that time

[00:23:58] it's scary

[00:24:02] yeah those things travel around whatever they are

[00:24:06] you know those bad ones I can really raise

[00:24:08] hell even way out

[00:24:09] I don't like that

[00:24:13] so there's a lot of spirits way out in the country

[00:24:23] I heard this one story from my ex Gio

[00:24:27] he said that his uncle met the devil

[00:24:30] he said his uncle was walking down from the casino

[00:24:33] through the museum

[00:24:34] parking lot

[00:24:36] and when he got past that parking lot

[00:24:39] he started walking past

[00:24:42] this alleyway

[00:24:43] and he said someone came out of there

[00:24:45] he was dressed like really nice

[00:24:47] like he didn't have a suit on

[00:24:49] but he was dressed like really nice

[00:24:51] and he said

[00:24:53] when he saw him

[00:24:54] the guy already knew him

[00:24:55] he said

[00:24:57] he said

[00:24:58] when he saw him the guy already knew his name

[00:25:01] he was like

[00:25:02] hey like

[00:25:04] like hey Glenn

[00:25:06] I know you don't know me but

[00:25:08] like I want you to know if you need any money

[00:25:11] I can give you

[00:25:13] any amount of money you wanted

[00:25:16] I'm here for you

[00:25:18] he was like

[00:25:19] Glenn was like

[00:25:20] no I don't want any of your money

[00:25:23] I'm good I have my own things

[00:25:25] I'm going home

[00:25:26] and he said that

[00:25:28] the devil just started getting like more persistent

[00:25:31] saying like

[00:25:32] he has anything he could like ever want in life

[00:25:36] and he like

[00:25:37] started getting mad the more he like denied it

[00:25:41] and he said

[00:25:43] like

[00:25:44] the last question he was like

[00:25:46] do you know who I am

[00:25:47] and Glenn was like

[00:25:49] yeah I know who you are

[00:25:50] and he was like then who am I

[00:25:53] and Glenn was like

[00:25:54] I'm not gonna say your name

[00:25:57] and like

[00:25:58] he was like tell me who am I

[00:26:00] and Glenn was like

[00:26:01] no I'm like not gonna say your name

[00:26:03] like he's like

[00:26:04] I know it's like not good to say

[00:26:08] he just kept asking

[00:26:09] like the more he

[00:26:11] kept denying again

[00:26:12] he was getting more and more angry

[00:26:14] and like stepping closer and closer to him

[00:26:17] and he said

[00:26:18] when he finally got right in front of him

[00:26:20] Glenn said to

[00:26:21] like go away

[00:26:22] like he didn't want him there

[00:26:24] and he said that when he started praying out loud

[00:26:26] he said that

[00:26:27] that guy just grabbed his arm

[00:26:29] and start trying to drag him away into that alleyway

[00:26:34] did he get away

[00:26:38] yeah he got away but he said he had like

[00:26:41] he has like two scars on his arm

[00:26:45] and he said that's where that guy grabbed him

[00:26:50] did he have a hat on that guy

[00:26:53] um

[00:26:54] yeah he had a hat on and um

[00:26:56] he said that he had sunglasses on too

[00:26:58] like

[00:26:59] like even though it was dark

[00:27:01] he said he had sunglasses on

[00:27:03] Jesus sounds like that

[00:27:08] like my friend calls it the devil on town pump

[00:27:15] yeah that thing that

[00:27:18] gets in with people

[00:27:20] well he's seen it get in with somebody

[00:27:23] and then that person drove out of town

[00:27:25] and got in an accident and died

[00:27:29] oh that's scary

[00:27:31] but that's that same thing that um

[00:27:34] your great uncle Ray

[00:27:37] seen on the road it tried to pick him up

[00:27:39] really dressed nice

[00:27:42] they were broke down and this was long

[00:27:44] long time ago 89 wasn't even 89

[00:27:46] it was that old old road

[00:27:49] and he come over that hill by spring hill

[00:27:52] coming into town from that way

[00:27:55] and I guess it was broke down him and his buddy

[00:27:58] and he said well yeah we'll ride with you

[00:28:00] he's giving him cigarettes

[00:28:02] he's giving him a drink

[00:28:04] he got a bottle under the seat

[00:28:06] he's going to reach under and grab it

[00:28:08] he's going to reach from behind though back behind the seat

[00:54:02] and I was like sitting here and like my mom was gone

[00:54:04] for like two days

[00:54:05] and she gave me like a list of things to do around the house

[00:54:08] yeah

[00:54:09] and like just the living room light was on

[00:54:11] and the kitchen like

[00:54:13] stove light was on

[00:54:14] mm-hmm

[00:54:15] and I sit in there going through it

[00:54:17] and then like

[00:54:19] I just felt really heavy all of a sudden

[00:54:21] and it was like nine o'clock so it was pitch black out

[00:54:25] and I was like looking around

[00:54:27] and I was like

[00:54:29] looking for Zarea

[00:54:30] and she was like sitting next to me

[00:54:32] and her eyes were like

[00:54:33] like really big and her tail was wagging

[00:54:36] and she was like looking at my mom's room

[00:54:39] and I like looked back

[00:54:40] and my mom's room was just pitch black

[00:54:43] and like the door was wide open

[00:54:45] but usually the light illuminates it

[00:54:47] but this time it didn't

[00:54:50] and I was like

[00:54:51] I start putting things away faster

[00:54:52] and I was like

[00:54:53] I just want to go in my room

[00:54:54] like that's all I want to do

[00:54:56] and when I start putting those things away faster

[00:54:58] I felt something blow on the back of my neck

[00:55:01] and then

[00:55:02] um my back felt really hot

[00:55:04] and it was stinging

[00:55:06] and I remember I looked at it the next morning

[00:55:08] and I had a long scratch from my shoulder

[00:55:10] down to like my elbow

[00:55:17] there was something in there

[00:55:19] I wonder why they did that

[00:55:25] I keep having nightmares

[00:55:27] that's like something is going to

[00:55:29] pull me into my closet at night

[00:55:38] I get worried about you at that house there

[00:55:42] yeah it's really scary here

[00:55:44] yeah I do

[00:55:47] like haunted house

[00:55:49] do you have smudging everything there

[00:55:51] that you keep with you

[00:55:53] uh yeah I don't have a sweet grass anymore though

[00:55:56] I was going to go see Antiana

[00:55:58] about getting one of her braids

[00:56:00] get cedar

[00:56:02] yeah I was going to go see her about that too

[00:56:04] and like go try to get painted again

[00:56:08] if you want I couldn't bring you up some cedar

[00:56:10] the next time I'm up

[00:56:12] yeah can you

[00:56:14] yeah I'll get you a little jar of it

[00:56:17] okay I just

[00:56:19] crush it up so it's easier to burn you know

[00:56:24] get you some cedar out that house

[00:56:35] these pooping all help it with how many spirits are up here

[00:56:43] some sweet grass hanging above the door

[00:56:45] and some windows are on the house

[00:56:48] but I don't know where they went

[00:56:51] they just kind of disappeared after a while

[00:57:01] you know I had to do that at my dad's house

[00:57:03] I couldn't get it out of that house

[00:57:05] those things there was a lot of them there too

[00:57:07] but I was able to barrier off my room

[00:57:10] and I wouldn't get bothered in that room anymore

[00:57:12] because I was getting paralyzed in there

[00:57:14] they were messing around making noise

[00:57:17] you know it was having my weird

[00:57:19] wicked dreams

[00:57:21] they were raising hell with me up there but

[00:57:24] once I got that room barrier off it all

[00:57:26] quit

[00:57:28] was able to have some peace in there

[00:57:31] but I couldn't get it out of that house

[00:57:33] because my dad would bring them back in

[00:57:35] by drinking and stuff

[00:57:38] yeah I couldn't get them to stay out of there

[00:57:41] they just come back because of him

[00:57:43] the people he'd bring around you know

[00:57:47] yeah it was

[00:57:49] it was scary at times

[00:57:51] not all the time it was scary but

[00:57:53] enough that made me want to do something about it
